LCA4BIO Hosts Its First Co-Creation Workshop with Strong Engagement from Stakeholders

On May 23, the LCA4BIO project held its first Co-Creation Workshop, gathering over 60 participants from a wide range of sectors, including industry, academia, and policy. The event marked a key milestone in our stakeholder engagement strategy and opened an important dialogue around the development of harmonised Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodologies for bio-based systems.

Under the facilitation of the LCA4BIO team, the 90-minute session was designed to be interactive and collaborative, offering participants the opportunity to share their experiences, challenges, and expectations regarding LCA practices in emerging bioeconomy sectors.

The workshop kicked off with a brief overview of the project’s goals and progress, followed by a series of live polls and guided questions designed to collect direct feedback from the audience. Participants contributed insights on methodological gaps, sector-specific needs, and their interest in future collaboration with LCA4BIO.

The high level of interaction and the quality of the input collected will greatly contribute to shaping the next phases of the project. This feedback will inform both the technical development of the LCA4BIO framework and the design of our next co-creation sessions.

We would like to sincerely thank all participants for their time, openness, and commitment. Your contributions are vital to ensuring that LCA4BIO delivers tools and methodologies that truly respond to the needs of real-world actors.

Stay tuned for the summary report of the workshop, which will be shared soon on our website — and don’t forget to follow us on LinkedIn for future events and updates!
